Fireplaces, Kitchens and the Village Stroll at the Door

Whistler Village is built around a single pedestrian spine, the Village Stroll, lined with restaurants, ski shops and après bars, and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre sits just off it on Blackcomb Way. The concept is simple and suits the mountain perfectly: there are no ordinary rooms, only suites. Each one has a fireplace and a kitchen, and the larger layouts add balconies with views over the village rooftops or up to the slopes. It is the sister property of the Pan Pacific Mountainside, which stands at the foot of the gondolas, and the two share services that make a ski holiday noticeably easier.

Why It Works

We selected this hotel because it solves the practical questions of a mountain holiday without giving up comfort. Breakfast is included in the rate, a daily buffet that sets you up for a morning on Whistler or Blackcomb. Kitchens mean you can cook when the restaurants are full, and fireplaces make the evenings. Skis and snowboards can be checked free of charge at the Mountainside, next to the lifts, so nobody has to carry gear through the village. And the pool deck, open all year, is exactly where you want to be after a long day outside.

Why This Location

The hotel sits in the middle of Whistler Village, a short walk from the Village Stroll's restaurants and shops and from the Olympic Plaza. The Whistler Village Gondola and the Blackcomb lifts are a few minutes away on foot; the sister hotel's ski valet at the base of the mountain shortens the morning routine. In summer, the same streets lead to the Valley Trail for cycling and walking around Lost Lake and Alta Lake, and the mountain bike park starts at the gondola base. Whistler is about two hours north of Vancouver along the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Self-parking and valet parking are available on site.

From Studio to Two-Bedroom Suite

The range is designed for every kind of group. Studios, around 447 square feet, fold a queen Murphy bed into the living space and suit couples. One-bedroom suites, about 565 square feet, add a separate bedroom with a door, a living and dining area with a sofa bed, and a balcony. The one-bedroom plus den, around 865 square feet, gives a family an extra sleeping nook. At the top of the range, two-bedroom suites of about 1,060 square feet have two bathrooms and balconies facing the village or the mountains, ideal for two couples sharing a week.

The Pool Deck After a Day on the Mountain

The outdoor pool stays open year-round, heated and filled with saltwater, with a lap section for swimmers and a shallow area for children. Two hot tubs share the deck, which is where most guests end up at the end of a ski day, watching the snow fall on the surrounding peaks. Indoors, a Nordic-style sauna and a fitness centre complete the picture, and spa treatments can be arranged for tired legs.

Good to Know Before You Book

Pets are welcome, a real advantage for travellers arriving with a dog. Parking is paid, with a valet option. The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the lifts rather than directly at their foot, which is why the free ski check at the sister property is so useful. In peak winter weeks and during school holidays, the larger suites go first, so reserve early.
